Mr. Finney says, “Reading Is The Key to Succeeding"
Torin Finney served as a professional educator in southern California for two decades. After teaching middle school and community college level history in Bakersfield for seven years, he worked for thirteen as a high school social science teacher in Orange County. He retired from the classroom in 2018.
Mr. Finney is an award-winning author with B.A. and M.A. degrees in American Studies and a state teaching credential from the University of La Verne. He studied religion at the interdenominational Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California and worked for many years in parish and outdoor ministries.
From 1999 to 2008 he portrayed Harper's Weekly Special Artist Correspondent James Allen Davis at school presentations, living history reenactments, and civic groups. He was featured in periodicals and documentary films and completed an illustrated memoir which includes his portfolio of 70 original drawings.
